Digital Health
Information and communication technology (ICT) is the key technology of the 21st century. Their use is also gaining in importance in the German healthcare system with its more than five million employees.
Digital technologies can help us to better address the challenges facing almost all western healthcare systems – treating more and more elderly and chronically ill people, paying for expensive medical innovations, providing medical care to structurally weak rural areas. They enable better and more efficient care and wider access to medical expertise, especially in rural areas. Also, new forms of better care of patients in the home environment can be realized
International Health
How successful a national health system is performing differs in international comparison, and is naturally dependent on the organizational and economic skills of a national economy. Comparing systems in First World markets, emerging markets, and developing societies is rarely possible.
In emerging and developing societies, healthcare systems – if present at all – are mainly concerned with preventing the spread of contagious diseases. Their aim will have to be to handle such nation-specific problems themselves, in the long run and with international support.
The sector international health focusses on problems of health promotion and the cooperation of healthcare systems in emerging and developing countries, dealing mainly with development work and cooperation in actual healthcare.
Company health management
Health prevention in a company means is necessarily one of small-scale concepts, compared with national, international, or global concepts. When it comes to holistic company healthcare and making work as healthy as possible, we can support employers and employees in very direct terms. Interdisciplinary concepts such as teaching employees about allergies, back problems, or infections or about the ergonomy of individual work spaces all contribute to make employees feel and perform better which also benefits the company. Therapies of various (orthopedic) problems round off such an interdisciplinary concept.
Public Health
Concepts and healthcare service provisions need to be planned for more than just individuals. Because the physical and emotional health of the whole of a nation is a crucial factor for a sound national economy.
This area will contribute to promote on a national level disease prevention and health promotion. Fundamentally, interdisciplinary concepts have to be designed and realized after having analyzed and rated the health problems of a society.
Global Health
In our global times, healthcare is a global public good. Health protection and access to universal health coverage are now a global responsibility because they also give worldwide protection.
Globally, the main concern must be that national healthcare systems are functioning and cooperating well together on an international level. If national healthcare systems are broken and unable to cooperate over continents, this may have serious international consequences, since we are globabally connected.
This issue is still in its infancy but experts ascribe a vital role to think tanks in developing functioning solutions here.
Club health supervision
Health protection is important also in smaller societal structures. A health-oriented club will help keeping its membership fit and healthy and increase the performance of individuals or whole teams.
Areas such as health education, thorough examination of athletes and performing treatments would benefit from being more efficient, since now athletes tend to be left to themselves with doctors and therapists. Medical and therapy analysis are consistent yet also highly customized, producing a highly uniform and constant leavel of health of a club and its members.
